Technical Site Execution

A sports court is only as good as the subbase foundation beneath it. Discover our 6-step engineering methodology.

The Foundation: Sub-Base Layers

Why do Sunsports arenas remain flat and crack-free while standard builds sag or gather water?

The secret lies in our meticulous layering system. Standard contractors lay synthetic turfs directly over loosely compacted soil or thin cement slabs. Sunsports utilizes a structural multi-layer build sequence to ensure perfect slope gradients, high load resistance, and maximum sub-surface water absorption.

For outdoor tennis and pickleball, we lay porous asphalt overlays that expand and contract smoothly during summer heats without fracturing the top acrylic paint coat.

Court Sub-Base Layering Spec
  • Layer 1: Playing Surface (Turf / BWF PVC / Cushioned Acrylic)
  • Layer 2: Elastic Shockpad Underlayment (8mm-10mm)
  • Layer 3: Asphalt / Reinforced Concrete slab base (75mm depth)
  • Layer 4: Graded Aggregate Gravel Subbase (100mm compacted depth)
  • Layer 5: Geo-Textile Separator Fabric Membrane
  • Layer 6: Graded Compaction Soil Sub-grade (95% Proctor rating)

Phase Execution Flow

A detailed walkthrough of our end-to-end turnkey site construction steps.

01

Site Survey & Base Layout

We perform professional soil compaction testing, laser leveling, and slope grading analysis to ensure perfect storm water run-off routes and prevent water logging issues.

02

Subbase Excavation & Gravel Base

Excavating down 100mm-150mm. Laying varying grades of coarse aggregate stones, vibrating and rolling them to achieve a compaction density of over 95% on the proctor scale.

03

Drainage & Asphalt Layer

For outdoor turfs, we lay a custom drainage matrix or a porous concrete/asphalt course layer. This guarantees the pitch remains playable within 30 minutes of heavy rainfall.

04

Elastic Pad & Turf Laying

Rolling out premium sports flooring (BWF-certified PVC mats, ITF cushioned acrylic layers, or FIFA synthetic grass) followed by hot-melt seam bonding for structural stability.

05

Silica Infill & Netting Setup

Spreading calibrated kiln-dried silica sand and elastic rubber granules uniformly. Constructing high-tensile steel fences and specialized sports floodlighting poles.

06

Line Marking & Inspection Audit

Executing precise line markings using polyurethane paints. Adjusting netting tensions and running lighting Lux meters to ensure optimal uniform lighting across the court before project handover.
